Paul Hoare

Paul Hoare - Cornish artist

Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour Selected Exhibition 2010 and 2011, The Mall Galleries, The Mall, London Watercolour Challenge, Channel 4, Grand Finalist.
Inspired by the Cornish light on the land and sea, Paul works principally en-plein-air to achieve that intimate ‘connection’ with the subject and also in his studio at Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes. His style is primarily watercolour based combined with mixed media techniques in a highly individual and exciting impressionistic style. He also works in acrylics, oils and pastels.
You are welcome to visit the studio, without obligation, where you can view the paintings and art at leisure. We are situated in a spectacular location overlooking the sea at Trevaunance Cove in St Agnes and next to the kitchen for tea and coffee.

Pydar Gallery and Studios

In a delightful listed building - a real hidden gem.
Five working studios with artists; Lisa Paston, distinctive art style is reminiscent of British railway poster art of the 1930's and Japanese block printing and is becoming increasingly collectible. Jannine Neale, works with oils on canvas, she creates unique art works of trees, landscapes, valleys and the Cornish coast. Tim Clarey, artist, illustrator and tutor, paintings are largely figurative with elements of abstraction. Katherine Nicholls, has a background in illustration and animation, her subjects are often figurative, at times loosely referencing the stylish artists of the1930s in their love of pattern and restrained colour.
Katie Johns’ ‘Faded but Fabulous’ reworks and upcycles vintage and antique furniture through upholstery, painting and decoupage, creating individual and unique pieces for your home. And, Joan Ford, paintings are developed from images seen in her daily life in Truro, she is particularly interested in images which are fleeting and represent the changing life of the city.
