Greatest Hits Tour 2012
Fri 17 Feb, 7:30pm
From the raw innocence of the innovative, soul-searching blues of the 60s’ Peter Green era, we travel through the band’s reincarnation to record one of the decade-defining album of the 70s, Rumours , before the band metamorphose again into one of 80s rock’s most staggeringly successful behemoth supergroups – this is a musical journey of quite epic proportions.
In this brilliant live anthology of all the crucial moments in the band’s eventful evolution – which has received Mick Fleetwood’s golden seal of approval no less - RUMOURS OF FLEETWOOD MAC is a must-see for any discerning disciple of this most iconic of rock institutions.
Replicating perfectly the power and subtlety of Fleetwood Mac at their brilliant best, let timeless classics such as ‘Black Magic Woman’, ‘Albatross’, ‘Go Your Own Way’, ‘Dreams’, ‘Gypsy’ ‘Say You Love Me’, ‘Sara’, ‘Oh Diane’, ‘Little Lies’, ‘Everywhere’ and many more, take you on a nostalgic evening of breathtakingly outstanding musicianship; and all performed in the context where the songs work best – a live stage.
For well over a decade, and now nearing half a million concert tickets sold this band are among the very elite of tribute acts worldwide. Hall for Cornwall, Back Quay, Truro, Cornwall TR1 2LL

Another Cornwall /Une Autre Cornouaille
Saturday, 24th March 2012 until Saturday, 9th June 2012
Both geographically and in spirit, the far west of Cornwall is closer to Brittany than to London, and trading links between the two places stretch back many centuries. Arriving in 1884, Stanhope Forbes famously described Newlyn as ‘a sort of English Concarneau’, as he and many of the other artists settling here at that time had first spent time in Brittany. This exhibition looks at the strong links between Cornouaille, Brittany, and West Cornwall, including paintings by much-loved ‘local’ figures such as Stanhope and Elizabeth Forbes, Walter Langley and Frank Heath, together with artefacts and photographs. Curated in conjunction with Le Musée Departmental Breton, Quimper. Penlee House Gallery and Museum. Morrab Road, Penzance. Cornwall TR18 4HE

This is a one day class running at the Mid Cornwall School of Jewellery, Treesmill Farm, Tywardreath, Par, Cornwall PL24 2TX. Telephone 01726 817989.
Just for fun we've created an introduction to silver metal clay course for people who simply want to play with metal clay and are not yet ready to do the Diploma. This one day course will introduce you to metal clay through some simple projects in a relaxed atmosphere. The emphasis will be on building confidence working with metal clay at your own pace and focusing on fun. You'll learn how to make a pendant, a shell charm and some earrings just to get you started. Once you've got a bit of confidence using metal clay, you can begin to really play and create your own designs. The tutor will help you to create beautiful fine silver jewellery in whatever style you choose. All the equipment you need will be provided and you can buy a metal clay tool kit during the class if you want to continue creating as soon as you get home. By the end of the day you'll have enough knowledge and confidence to create unique pieces of jewellery using metal clay at your own kitchen table! This course is particularly suitable for people who need a bit more time to learn new things or who have limitations with manual dexterity. There is no pressure and the tutor will work with individuals at their own pace to ensure they achieve their goals for the day. The course cost (£99) includes VAT and 20g of metal clay which is enough to create the basic projects. You can buy additional metal clay on the day or bring your own metal clay if you'd prefer.

Titanic - The Musical
Friday, 6th April 2012 until Friday, 13th April 2012
The Atlantic Theatre Company present Titanic - The Musical with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and a book by Peter Stone
April 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 13 at 8pm
April 9 at 2pm
Centenary Performance - April 14 at 10.20pm
Performed to mark the centenary of the disaster.
In the early hours of April 11, 1912, Titanic sailed past the piece of Cornish coast where Minack now stands on passage from Cherbourg to Queenstown. The final performance will begin at 10.20pm on April 14 concluding in the early hours of April 15. Events in the play will take place exactly 100 years after the 'Ship Of Dream's met its fate.
The musical play Titanic examines the causes, the conditions and the characters involved in this ever-fascinating drama. This is the factual story of that ship, of her officers, crew and passengers, but she does not serve as merely the background against which fictional, melodramatic narratives are recounted. The central character of this show is the Titanic herself.

Saturday, 28th July 2012 until Sunday, 29th July 2012
Cornwall Truck Show at Stitians Show Ground will have a Craft Marquee for the first time this year.
The 2010 event raised a whopping £5000 for charity. £4000 of this has been donated to the Children's Hospice South West (Little Harbour) and the other £1000 to Ellies Haven.
If you're interested please contact me 01579 384846
On display will be modern, vintage, classic and custom trucks all hoping to win a class trophy.
There will be loads of stalls and trade stands as well as Truck Manufacturer stands. We have also provisionally booked the Racing Bug (radio controlled truck racing). This has proved very popular at similar events and we are sure it will be a great addition to the 2012 line-up. Refreshments will be available including burgers, pasties, jacket potatoes, candy floss, sweets, doughnuts and ice creams.
For the kids there will be fair rides, inflatables, face painting and the Cornwall Play Bus (to be confirmed).
For evening entertainment (campers only), there is a bar and disco on Friday and Saturday night.
We are also pleased to announce a return performance from The Cornish Wurzels on Saturday night. Why not come for the weekend and camp?
