Fisherman's Friends: The Musical

Wednesday, 13th October 2021 until Saturday, 30th October 2021

Royo and Cornwall Playhouse Productions present The World Premiere of Fisherman's Friends: The Musical
The musical is a brand-new musical based on the true story of Cornwall's favourite singing sea-shanty sensations and the smash-hit 2019 Universal Pictures film which grossed over £11.5 million worldwide at the box office. When a group of Cornish fisherman came together to sing the traditional working songs they’d sung for generations, they hoped to raise a few quid for charity. Nobody, least of all the fisherman, expected the story to end on the Pyramid stage of Glastonbury. Spotted by a fish-out-of-water music manager on a trip from London, who must learn there is more to life then selling your sole for fifteen minutes of fame, the story is a feel-good voyage about friendship, community and music that will give any land-lover a mighty pair of sea legs. Packed with more sea shanties than you can fit in a lobster trawler, this new musical will transport you to the high seas featuring some of your favourite shanties from the much-loved  Fisherman's Friends boys themselves, including Keep Haulin', Nelson's Blood, No Hopers Jokers & Rogues, Sweet Maid of Madeira and many more.
Said the Fisherman's Friends themselves "Blimey me, how did that happen! We are so proud that the musical based on our unexpected voyage will be launched down here in the heart of Cornwall".
Come and be transported to the high seas with this heart warming tale that will have you laugh and cry and simply singing along.
Fisherman's Friends: The Musical will be the first co-production for Hall for Cornwall's new in-house producing company, Cornwall Playhouse Productions, and produced in partnership with producers Royo.
The production will be directed by James Grieve (former Joint Artistic Director of Paines Plough and former Associate Director of the Bush Theate) and designed by Lucy Osborne with musical supervision from David White.
Please note: Seats will be released in phases to enable us to fill the auditorium from the front. When booking online, available seats are shown in colour, grey seats are not available. Seats in the Circle and Balcony will be released based on demand per performance.
