Olympus - A Race Against Time

Saturday, 17th March 2012 until Monday, 19th March 2012

Olympus - A Race Against Time

A new musical written by Chris Chambers and Ian Rae
MAY 17,18,19 at 8pm
This is a new musical to be performed at Minack on the days leading up to and including Saturday May 19, the day on which the Olympic torch leaves Land's End on its journey throughout the UK.
A young Olympic athlete is hurled back in time to Mount Olympus, 780BC, where the first Olympic Games are about to be held. There he is charged by the ancient Gods to help two young lovers in their tragic love story in order to avert war between Athens and Sparta.

Titanic - The Musical

Friday, 6th April 2012 until Friday, 13th April 2012

The Atlantic Theatre Company present Titanic - The Musical with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and a book by Peter Stone
April 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 13 at 8pm
April 9 at 2pm
Centenary Performance - April 14 at 10.20pm
Performed to mark the centenary of the disaster.
In the early hours of April 11, 1912, Titanic sailed past the piece of Cornish coast where Minack now stands on passage from Cherbourg to Queenstown. The final performance will begin at 10.20pm on April 14 concluding in the early hours of April 15. Events in the play will take place exactly 100 years after the 'Ship Of Dream's met its fate.
The musical play Titanic examines the causes, the conditions and the characters involved in this ever-fascinating drama. This is the factual story of that ship, of her officers, crew and passengers, but she does not serve as merely the background against which fictional, melodramatic narratives are recounted. The central character of this show is the Titanic herself.
