The Owls House Studio

Artist Mary Allen's bold and spontaneous work embodies a very personal take on all things related to the sea and her beloved cornish coastline. She demonstrates this by using fairly thick layers of paint finishing with layers of glazes to produce the texture and tone her work has become recognized for.

The palette knife is her preferred tool, however hands and the odd kitchen utensil here and there also play their part !!

She works from her Studio at The Owls House, which, when she is not traveling, is open to the public, and so it is always wise to ring before a visit.

Mary has at least two exhibitions a year, usually in St Ives, with her work going all over the world. Her work can also be seen at The Harbour Gallery, Portscatho, The Imagination Gallery, St Ives and at The Boskerris Hotel, Carbis Bay.

She has been a member of The St Ives Arts Club for a number of years.

Mary remarried in 2012 but in order to avoid confusion elected to keep her previous name of Allen, her married name is Mary Graham. Her work also covers subjects from equine, portraiture, landscapes and seascapes.
