The Natural Fibre Company
The Natural Fibre Company has launched its own range of specialist wool products under the name Blacker Designs starting with knitting yarns, scarves, cushions blankets and throws. It was taken over by Sue Blacker and her family in 2005 and moved from Wales to a 15,000 square foot factory at Launceston in Cornwall. Since then it has started a minor revolution in the textile industry by doing almost everything in small quantities. The company has been adding value to fleeces supplied by farmers since 1991, but the new management introduced worsted spinning in 2007, and a dye plant in and on-line shop in 2008. |
